A place to call ‘home’ in Albany Creek
It’s official! The Albany Creek Apartments are complete and make the perfect home for eight young people with high care needs.
A partnership with MS Queensland and the Queensland Government, the apartments are equipped with the latest in innovative technologies where lights, blinds and doors are all at the touch of a fingertip. This allows the new residents to live with more freedom and independence. The two-roomed apartments are ideal for the new residents who can now have their family and friends stay overnight or use the spare room as a study.
Construction started back in May 2016, and with more than 35 dedicated supporters, it was all hands on deck to create this home! On behalf of Youngcare and the young people you are helping, we would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to those that so generously donated to this project.

The Community Open Day back in May drew a great crowd, with the Albany Creek community, supporters and new residents popping in to have a look and a sausage sizzle. Tim Mander MP, Member for Everton, rallied a team of walkers to show their support for young people with high care needs and raised funds for a vehicle for the new residents so they can explore their new community with ease.
“We’re very excited to have the Youngcare and MS Queensland apartments within the Albany Creek community. The work that Youngcare and MS Queensland are doing to better the lives of young people with disability is phenomenal.” Mr Mander said.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk attended the official opening where she cut the ribbon and took a tour of the apartments that new resident, John, will be calling home.
