Ready, set, trek! And keep trekking…
Thursday, 28 April will mark 108 days of hard work, fundraising and training and the start of the adventure of a lifetime for the 2016 Simpson Desert Trekkers.
From trivia and bingo to croquet and card making, these trekkers have pulled out every stop in the book to raise funds and awareness. Their rigorous training schedule comprising of weekly PT sessions in New Farm Park, hill training at Bowen Hills and distance treks around Mount Coot-tha, as well as time on Stradbroke Island sand and dune training, has not only hardened their feet, but also their determination to complete the challenge and do their part in creating a future where no Young Aussie has to call aged care “home”.
We wish them well on their adventure!
