“Your generous support keeps my family together”
“My sister Breanna is 21; she has an undiagnosed, severe disability. Because of an un-diagnosis we have difficulty accessing certain services and we are constantly being passed around.
This year we were told to relinquish care of Breanna and move her into a nursing home as we were unable to access enough funding. Even when we were looking at self-managed packages, we still couldn’t stretch the funding to last.

We have been so grateful for the [At Home Care] Grants Youngcare have given us over the last two years as my family financially struggles to support my sister’s needs and everyday expenses such as medications, food, doctors’ appointments and daily requirements.
Without organisations such as Youngcare, I don’t think we would be able to support my sister to live within the family home.

These grants not only allow some financial stability for our family, but they also allow my mum to go to work which she describes as being respite.
When approaching Youngcare about our struggle they were not only empathetic but also extremely supportive and helped advocate for services on our behalf.
Receiving this grant has meant so much to our family. The grant means Breanna can continue to participate in all of her favourite activities such as swimming and music.
Thank you!”
