Aussie dad dives into epic challenge for Youngcare
A brave Brisbane-based Dad, will take on the English Channel next August to raise funds for Youngcare. Cameron Noble, finance executive, has started his gruelling training schedule with the help of retired Australian long distance swimmer and English Channel Swim record holder, Trent Grimsey.
With just under a year to go, Cam’s training involves 25km sessions five times a week in the pool plus ocean swims at Redcliffe or Burleigh.
“I don’t think I’ll come close to Trent’s record. Most people swim the channel in 12-14 hours. I will just be happy to cross it!” Cameron said.
Cameron is hoping to raise $500,000 for Youngcare, enough to build another much-needed home in Wooloowin, Brisbane to help get young people with high care needs exit aged care.
