Youngcare Cradle Mountain Adventure 2015
The Youngcare Cradle Mountain Adventure 2015 saw six stoic Youngcare supporters tackle one of Australia’s most beautiful, and dangerous, mountain walks.
Since 2011, Youngcare has sent dozens of courageous adventurers around the globe for the experience of a lifetime. Flying the Youngcare banner, our Trekkers have walked the Simpson Desert, witnessed the ruins of Machu Picchu, climbed the steps of the Great Wall of China, and now the picturesque surrounds of the Cradle Mountain Overland Track.
The six trekkers were challenged every single day of the journey through the rain, sleet and snow – you can read a day-by-day recap of the adventure here including some of the fantastic imagery from the trek.
By taking on the Cradle Mountain Adventure, these six Youngcare legends are helping:
- Build more relevant and age-appropriate housing
- Provide information and advice via our Youngcare Connect service
- Provide grants to keep young people at home (in the care of their loved ones) and who are at high risk of entering aged care
- Undertake world first research to better understand the needs and wants of young Aussies with high care needs
